Phantoms Basketball

Phantoms Challenge Cup.

Saturday 5th June was the day of the first challenge cup for the Phantoms where the Phantoms would face the Shadows and the Lady Phantoms would face the Phantom Junior U.16 team.

Although the day was meant to be a fun day with the club getting together to play basketball there was an undertone of seriousness about the gym.

Nobody wanted to loose face.

The Juniors played the ladies first which started intensely and didn’t let up. the fast pace game was to stay that was till the dying seconds.

The ladies put up a valiant effort but the Juniors proved to be too quick.

Final score: 96 -47 Juniors

Next the Phantoms vs the Shadows.

This was to a chance for the Shadows to prove themselves, show they could compete with the Mens number 1 team.

Sadly on this day it wasn’t to be, the Phantoms came out strong not giving an inch, the lead gradually grew until there was no coming back.

The Shadows made a push in the 3rd quarter winning it by a few points but the phrase to little too late springs to mind.

Final score: 102-50 Phantoms

Phantoms 3on3 Big Sucess!!!

Once again the Phantoms had their inter-club  mixed 3on3 fundraiser which went down a storm this year. As many as 9 teams competing during the day, a massive turnout.

The Finals highlights can be seen on the videos page, great final game which went all the way down to the wire, but one team must be victorious at the end of it all.

Well done to Imran, Emma, Prakash and Amrit for a 9-7 victory over Richard, Keshane, Simon and Rebecca who put up a great fight.

Congratulations to Imran, Emma and Amrit for picking the MVP award for each category Seniors mens, Junior mens and Ladies as well as being the Number 1 team.

The Club AGM is now to be on Wednesday June 9th at Fernhill School, starting at 8.30pm.

As previously emailed this is to report back on the entire season for ALL the teams, to talk about the future and present our annual player awards.

It is very important that you all attend this meeting as it is your chance to have your say.  Changes are often discussed at this meeting which may effect some or all of our members.  It is easier to make decisions for the club if those who would be effected are there to raise any concerns.

The Phantoms bring the party to Caister!!!!!

First timers but will continue to go back now for many years to come.

Both teams put in respectable performances and even manages to beat a few teams. But even if not remembered for winning the tournament the Phantoms will not be forgotten by everyone at Caister.

I’m sure everyone involved would especially like to thank Becca and Martin for both their involvement in organising and ferrying us all to an from the sites. CHEERS guys!!!!!

You can see some of the game photos and antics on the photo gallery.

The season has come to an end and here is how it stands:

The Phantons Div1 team = 3rd place

The Shadows Div3 = Division 3 Champions!!!!

Special mentions to the Lady Phantoms who made a commendable finish to the season winning 4 out of the last 6 games. Also making it to the semi-finals of the Karl Taylor Plate.
